Wardrobe and cabinet resurfacing

Built-in wardrobes, sliding doors, shoe cabinets, storage runs and TV consoles, given a completely different character without dismantling a single piece of carpentry.

A full-height wardrobe run at The Amore, its mirrored sliding doors resurfaced in a flat off-white.

What we can change for you

  • Built-in and walk-in wardrobe doors
  • Sliding and bifold wardrobe fronts
  • Shoe cabinets and entryway storage
  • TV consoles and display units
  • Study and storage runs

Built-ins are the most expensive thing to replace and the easiest to resurface

A full-height wardrobe run is bespoke carpentry, cut once to your ceiling and never quite replaceable for what it originally cost. Tearing it out means demolition, disposal, remeasuring and starting again. Resurfacing changes its whole character in a day or two, and your shelving, rails and tracks are never even touched.

Mirrored doors can be covered

Mirrored fronts age a bedroom faster than anything else in it, and they hand back a reflection of whatever mess is opposite. Film goes straight over the glass, so the wall becomes one calm, quiet plane. No cost, no mess, no glaziers.

The frame goes with the doors

A wardrobe wrapped white against a varnished timber frame still reads, unmistakably, as an old wardrobe in a new coat. We take the frame and every visible edge along with the doors, so the run finally looks like one deliberate piece of furniture.

When we will say no

Film needs a surface that is flat, sound and dry. These are the times resurfacing is simply the wrong answer for you, and we would far rather say so at the survey than leave you to discover it after the invoice.

  • Sliding doors have to come off their track to be wrapped properly; if a track is worn out, it needs replacing first and that is a carpenter’s job.
  • Fabric, rattan and open-weave fronts cannot be wrapped, because film needs a continuous, solid surface.
  • Very thin edge banding that is already lifting will be replaced or filled before wrapping, which is quoted separately.

Tell us what you would like to change

Send a photo of the surface and roughly what you have in mind. We will tell you what is possible, what it would cost, and whether it is worth doing at all.
